What is a FHO?
Family Health Organizations consist of three or more family physicians, who can be geographically separated, working together to provide better access to preventive health care for patients across Ontario . The FHO involves an alternative payment model for physicians, combining Base Rate Capitation and Comprehensive Care Capitation Payments, affording physicians with a more steady and predictable income stream irrespective of the number of patient encounters.
